David Chafe is pleased to announce the release of his newest CD, "Bright and Beautiful", a collection of twelve wonderful and timeless hymns, most of them arranged by David, and featuring a diverse gathering of some of Newfoundland's finest musicians. His concept of this album is to re-introduce old Christian songs with personal and fresh interpretations by his closest friends and musical colleagues from the jazz, rock, folk, musical theatre and classical genres.
David Chafe is on piano throughout and accompanied by Patrick Boyle (trumpet), Sandy Morris (guitar), Christina Smith (violin) and singers Shelley Neville, Julia Halfyard, Andrew Dale, Mark House, Stephan Maloney and Christopher Bowman (Check out David's collaborative CD with Christopher, "Over Hill and Valley").

On September 29th, David will produce, host and perform in the second annual concert of "A Celebration of Christian Music" featuring the artists on the Bright and Beautiful CD and many others including an outstanding Salvation Army youth band and the always high-energy praise band, Foundation. All styles of gospel music will be performed including classic hymns, spirituals and contemporary songs. David will be on stage throughout the evening playing piano for all guest artists as well as for solo piano performances. With so many extraordinary musicians in St. John's together in one program, this promises to be an unforgettable musical event you won't want to miss. Admission is $20; only $10 for students.
