Pianist David Chafe and baritone Christopher Bowman are pleased to announce the release of their new classical CD, Over Hill and Valley. This beautiful recording features two stunning English song cycles: "Songs of Travel" by Ralph Vaughan Williams (based on the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson) and "Earth and Air and Rain" by Gerald Finzi (based on the poetry of Thomas Hardy).
Over Hill and Valley is the first collaborative recording project for David and Christopher who have been great friends and have performed together since meeting at the Memorial University School of Music in 2004 as students of the School's Master of Music program.

Over Hill and Valley has resulted in awards for Chris and David as Classical Artists of the Year (MusicNL, 2007) and Classical Recording of the Year (Music Nova Scotia, 2008), and was recognized with an ECMA nomination for Best Classical Recording. On November 20th and 21st, 2009, David and Christopher will be reuniting for two recitals in Nova Scotia as well as exploring new repertoire for a follow-up CD.
